- QuSecure has added retired CIA executive Eman Blair to its federal advisory board
- Blair has more than 21 years of experience in the CIA, which includes leading cybersecurity modernization
- QuSecure is a California-based provider of post-quantum cryptography and crypto-agility
Post-quantum cryptography company QuSecure announced Thursday that it selected former CIA senior intelligence service officer Eman Blair as the newest member of its federal advisory board.
Blair said she joined the board in support of QuSecure’s commitment to operationalizing post-quantum protection, having done similar efforts during her time in the CIA.
“As agencies implement post-quantum requirements, her experience managing mission-critical systems at scale provides valuable insight into how organizations can modernize cryptography while maintaining operational continuity,” said Brian Cunningham, executive vice president of strategy and growth at QuSecure.
Eman Blair’s appointment to QuSecure’s advisory board underscores the urgent need for agencies to prepare for post-quantum security threats. Learn how intelligence and technology leaders are tackling emerging challenges at the Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Intel Summit on Sep. 24. Register today!
What Is Eman Blair’s Career Background?
From 2000 to 2002, Blair served as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. She managed teams in areas such as enterprise resource planning and business process re-engineering, and dealt with customers, including the Department of War and the Department of State.
In April 2002, Blair joined the CIA and held various positions for more than 21 years. As a senior technology executive, she contributed to the agency’s transition into cloud-based enterprise technologies and helped implement artificial intelligence and machine learning in the migrated systems. She became chief data officer, deputy chief information officer, and chief operating officer, overseeing enterprise digital technologies.
“During my career at the CIA, I watched the quantum threat move from theoretical to near-term,” Blair commented. “The institutions I served and the systems I helped build are exactly what adversaries with quantum capabilities will target. QuSecure is focused on making post-quantum protection operational for the organizations that need it most,” she added.
Blair continues to serve on the advisory council of the Global SOF Foundation, a nonprofit group supporting global special operations forces.
