Intel Taps Alex Katouzian to Lead Client Computing & Physical AI; Pushkar Ranade Named CTO

Intel has appointed Alex Katouzian as executive vice president and general manager of the client computing and physical AI group and named Pushkar Ranade chief technology officer. The company said Monday the leadership additions will help bolster its core business and drive innovation efforts.

Who Is Alex Katouzian?

Katouzian will lead efforts to align Intel’s client computing operations with emerging physical artificial intelligence technologies, including robotics and autonomous systems. Reporting directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan, he will lead efforts to redefine client computing beyond traditional personal computers while helping Intel advance its push into physical AI.

“Alex brings deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and decades of experience building and scaling global compute platforms,” said Tan.

Before joining Intel, Katouzian spent more than 23 years at Qualcomm Technologies, where he held several leadership positions, including executive vice president and group general manager for mobile, compute and extended reality.

Who Is Pushkar Ranade?

Ranade, who was formally named CTO after serving in the position on an interim basis, will oversee Intel’s technology strategy and lead research initiatives in areas including quantum computing, photonics, neuromorphic computing and novel materials. He will also continue serving as CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s chief of staff, helping align the company’s technology priorities with broader business objectives.

A 17-year Intel veteran, Ranade has held multiple engineering and technology leadership roles across the company. He also served as vice president of technology development at SuVolta and began his career as a co-op engineer at IBM.

Prior Leadership Move at Intel

The latest executive appointments follow Intel’s April selection of Shawn Han as senior VP and GM of foundry services. Han, a 30-year semiconductor industry veteran, reports to Naga Chandrasekaran, EVP and head of foundry technology and manufacturing.
