- Zabierek spent 11 years at Fairmont Consulting Group advising on markets and M&A
- He is a former Air Force intelligence officer
- CEO Don Young said the appointment supports the next phase of growth
C5MI has named Mark Zabierek vice president of strategy, bringing in a consultant who advised defense and government clients on markets and acquisitions.
The company said Tuesday Zabierek will collaborate with executive leadership on corporate development and strategic business planning while leading its internal operating rhythm.
CEO Don Young said Zabierek’s experience turning market insight into plans fits the company’s next phase of growth.
What Experience Does Zabierek Bring to C5MI?
Zabierek spent 11 years as a principal at Fairmont Consulting Group, advising leadership teams on markets, opportunities, and mergers and acquisitions. Before that, he was a consultant at Deloitte Consulting for seven years, serving defense, homeland security and law enforcement clients on strategy and operations.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, during which he was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as an intelligence officer. Zabierek holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Air Force Academy.
What Is C5MI?
C5MI is an SAP partner providing digital transformation services for logistics and supply chain work, serving federal agencies and Fortune 200 companies. The company said Zabierek’s defense background will support its expansion in federal SAP modernization and supply chain work.
Its federal work to date includes a partnership with the Defense Logistics Agency to deploy a warehouse management system at Defense Distribution Susquehanna in Pennsylvania, following earlier work with DLA and SAP on a migration to S/4HANA. C5MI won a position on the Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense vehicle in December.
The appointment continues a run of leadership changes. Deven Joshi became chief artificial intelligence officer in February and Garth Sanginiti was promoted to chief growth officer later that month. C5MI opened a Reston, Virginia, office in May to work more closely with federal customers.
