Han will officially assume the role in May and will report to Naga Chandrasekaran, executive VP and GM of Intel foundry technology and manufacturing, the company said in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
“As we continue to prioritize strong, customer-driven execution and accelerate progress across process technology, advanced packaging, and our foundry capabilities, Shawn’s leadership will be an important addition to the team,” Intel wrote.
Who Is Shawn Han?
Han brings more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with an extensive background across multiple logic process nodes. He will join Intel after serving as EVP at Samsung Foundry, where he leads a U.S. team based in San Jose, California, and oversees sales and marketing operations.
Han was previously SVP of Samsung Semiconductor and head of customer engineering for the foundry business. He also spent more than 10 years in device and process integration engineering roles. The executive joined Samsung in 1996 as a senior engineer on the technology development team.
