RTX subsidiary BBN Technologies has secured a potential five-year, $125 million contract from U.S. Transportation Command to provide a suite of tools to support the development of simulation and modeling environments.
What Is the Scope of the USTRANSCOM IDIQ Contract?
The Department of War said Monday the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers the delivery of tools to advance the development and sustainment of complex simulation and optimization modeling environments to support analysis efforts tied to the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise, or JDDE.
The performance period will kick off on Wednesday, April 1, and run through March 31, 2031, at the contractor’s facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
USTRANSCOM will obligate fiscal 2026 working capital funds for individual task orders.
In 2024, the command issued a solicitation for an IDIQ contract seeking to procure software development support services for the Analysis of Mobility Platform, a suite of transportation modeling and simulation tools to support JDDE analysis efforts.
What Is the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise?
JDDE is a network of DOW components, commercial and international partners led by USTRANSCOM, which is responsible for orchestrating strategic deployment and distribution capabilities in support of the Joint Force. The command works with defense agencies, service components and commercial partners to address logistical challenges in contested environments.
