- BTS Software Solutions aims to expand its engineering and hardware capabilities with the Augury acquisition
- Augury brings expertise in FPGA development, system architecture and full-stack mission applications to BTS
- The deal adds advanced hardware capabilities to BTS’ portfolio spanning AI, cybersecurity, cloud and data science
BTS Software Solutions has acquired Augury, a software engineering and programmable hardware company that develops full-stack mission applications and field-programmable gate array, or FPGA, systems for government customers. Augury CEO Hal Black and his team will join BTS as part of the acquisition.
What Capabilities Does Augury Bring to BTS?
BTS said the acquisition adds Augury’s expertise in FPGA development and system architecture to its existing capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud services, intelligence operations, data science, software engineering and advanced hardware integration, expanding the technical expertise it offers customers in the Department of War, the intelligence community and the federal government.
BTS CEO David Tohn said Augury’s technical talent and engineering capabilities complement the company’s existing portfolio.
“Together, we’re expanding what we can deliver for our customers while creating new opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and growth across the company,” said Tohn.
How Will the Acquisition Affect BTS’ Engineering Business?
According to BTS, the acquisition supports its ongoing investment in an engineering organization equipped to address the evolving demands of national security and federal missions. Black said the company was founded to tackle complex engineering challenges and that joining BTS will allow it to bring those capabilities to a broader customer base while becoming part of a larger organization.
How Does the Acquisition Fit Into BTS’ Growth Strategy?
The Augury acquisition follows BTS’ broader growth strategy, which was bolstered by Blue Delta Capital Partners’ 2025 investment in the company. BTS said the investment would provide resources to expand its counter-unmanned aircraft systems and cybersecurity capabilities and support future acquisitions.
