CACI International has finalized its acquisition of ARKA Group in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $2.6 billion as part of a push to strengthen its market position and expand its space-based sensing and geospatial intelligence capabilities in support of national security customers.

As companies like CACI expand their space-based sensing capabilities through moves such as the ARKA acquisition, government and industry leaders are focusing on technologies shaping national security space missions. The Potomac Officers Club will host the 2026 Air and Space Summit on July 30, bringing together experts to discuss emerging space capabilities and operational strategies amid an evolving threat landscape. CACI said Monday the transaction expands its national security space portfolio and strengthens its ability to deliver multisource intelligence capabilities to government customers.
In late December, CACI agreed to acquire ARKA from Blackstone Tactical Opportunities-managed funds.
Wells Fargo and Gibson Dunn acted as CACI’s exclusive financial adviser and legal counsel, respectively, in the transaction. J.P. Morgan Securities and Evercore served as ARKA’s financial advisers, while Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advised ARKA on the deal’s legal aspects.
What Does ARKA Group Do?
ARKA Group develops electro-optical/infrared and hyperspectral imaging technologies used in space-based sensing platforms and provides agentic artificial intelligence-based software designed to deliver GEOINT for national security missions.
What Did CACI CEO John Mengucci Say About the ARKA Transaction?
CACI President and CEO John Mengucci said more than 1,100 ARKA employees have joined CACI as the company continues expanding its national security capabilities.
He added that ARKA will accelerate CACI’s space market strategy while adding technologies that expand the company’s position in a domain defined by high technical barriers to entry.
“As the threat environment grows more complex, this acquisition advances our long-term vision to deliver integrated, mission-critical space and ground capabilities that strengthen national security and support the evolving priorities of the Intelligence Community, the U.S. Space Force, and the Department of War,” noted Mengucci, a 2026 Wash100 awardee.
How Does the ARKA Deal Align With CACI’s Defense Programs?
The ARKA acquisition comes as CACI continues to expand its footprint in electronic warfare and intelligence missions.
CACI recently achieved Milestone C from the U.S. Navy for the Spectral program, enabling the next-generation shipboard signals intelligence and electronic warfare system to move into low-rate initial production. The company also secured a five-year Army task order worth up to $250 million to support the service’s spectrum dominance efforts.
