CACI announced Thursday that it has secured a three-year, $500 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to deploy its tactical counter-unmanned aircraft systems to Joint Interagency Task Force 401.
As part of the initial task order, CACI will deploy its SkyValor counter-drone technology to work defending critical mission sites in the U.S. and abroad.

What Is SkyValor?
SkyValor is a counter-drone system designed to spot, follow, and neutralize unauthorized aircraft before they can endanger troops, borders, or vital infrastructure. Rather than relying on kinetic force, it uses long-range sensors and automated tracking to give operators extra time to assess a threat and choose a non-destructive response, which lowers the odds of collateral damage nearby. The platform comes in three forms — a towable trailer unit, a vehicle-mounted version, and a fixed tower installation — so it can be tailored to temporary missions or permanent site defense alike.
What Is SkyValor’s History With JIATF-401?
JIATF-401 recently evaluated SkyValor at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma against a variety of small drone threats operating beyond visual range. Where many shorter-range counter-drone tools leave operators just seconds to react, SkyValor’s extended detection reach stretched that window to a few minutes — a performance gap that JIATF-401 cited in clearing the system for use at sensitive locations.
JIATF-401 previously used its Commercial Solutions Opening pathway to order four SkyValor units, one of them mounted on a heavy-duty truck to create a mobile version of the system that can be repositioned wherever a drone threat emerges.
