The Department of Defense said Tuesday the Palm Bay, Florida-based company is expected to perform work for the cost-plus-fixed-fee MET DESS contract until June 21, 2030. The Army Contracting Command in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, received one bid via online solicitation. It will determine work locations with each order.
Previous Contracts
L3Harris and the Army have collaborated on several significant contracts in the past. In January, the company was awarded a $300 million purchase order to provide handheld, manpack and small form fit, or HMS, radios to the Army. The deal is under a potential 10-year, $12.7 billion contract awarded to Harris in 2016.
In June 2024, the two organizations also agreed on a potential five-year, $871 million contract for the procurement of M762A1 and M767A1 electronic-time fuzes. The Army also awarded L3Harris a $196 million deal to manufacture 4,343 units of HMS radios in 2023.
