The Transportation Security Administration has announced plans to launch a competition for a follow-on indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract or a blanket purchase agreement, or BPA, to replace network equipment and provide licensing and maintenance support to meet mission needs.
According to a notice published Thursday on the Acquisition Planning Forecast System, the Department of Homeland Security’s TSA expects the contract requirement to be worth between $50 million and $100 million and anticipates the release of a solicitation by June 9.
Contract Requirement
According to the APFS notice, numerous divisions at TSA use multiple contracts and task orders to buy networking and telecommunications equipment, licensing and maintenance services to support its network infrastructure, which delivers connectivity to over 600 sites. An existing IDIQ contract for a subset of hardware, including switches and routers, is set to expire in 2025.
The notice shows that Akira Technologies is the incumbent contractor on an IDIQ contract to acquire network equipment and provide maintenance support for underpowered switches at multiple field locations.
Through a follow-on IDIQ or BPA, TSA will be able to provide a central contract to purchase network equipment, licensing and maintenance services to meet ongoing and emerging requirements.
CBP plans to award the recompete contract by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025 and expects work to be performed in Springfield, Virginia, through Sept. 14, 2029.
