The Georgia Institute of Technology’s nonprofit research organization will continue to provide systems engineering, test and evaluation and technical support for the Missile Defense Agency under a potential $339 million contract extension.
The Department of Defense said Tuesday the contract extension also covers simulation and modeling, advanced concepts and technologies, operations analysis, technical direction and readiness assessments across the spectrum of ballistic missile defense systems, including sensors, tech development and space sciences.
In September 2021, MDA awarded a $121 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Georgia Tech Applied Research Corp. for weapon systems research, development and engineering work.
The latest award brings the IDIQ contract’s ceiling value to $460 million and extends the ordering period from Sept. 28, 2026, to Sept. 28, 2031.
