Frontgrade Technologies , a provider of analog and radiation hardened technologies for aerospace and defense customers, has promoted Tommy Reed to the position of vice president.
Reed , formerly the senior director of strategy and integrated solutions, said on LinkedIn that he was also appointed acting chief technology officer at the portfolio company of Veritas Capital .
Before joining Frontgrade, Reed was part of L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), where he held the positions of senior principal for technology strategy at the office of the CTO; director of strategy for space systems; and, most recently, director of the company’s microelectronics business area.
Reed’s other prior employers include Bliley Technologies, GE (NYSE: GE) and Harris Corporation, prior to its merger with L3 Technologies in 2019 .
The Frontgrade VP also co-founded 7decibels, which developed a sound amplifier for the iPad.
Regarding his latest appointment, Reed said, “I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead this great technical team and am excited for what lies ahead.”
