An Accenture (NYSE: ACN) subsidiary will continue to help the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services manage the federal government’s health insurance exchange platform under a recompete contract worth $628 million over five years.
Accenture Federal Services booked the work through CMS’ Strategic Partners Acquisition Readiness Contract to extend support services for Federally Facilitated Exchange and the HealthCare.gov website, the company said Thursday.
AFS has served as the online marketplace’s prime contractor over the past nine years and helped the agency modernize and secure the platform.
“As a result of this important work, consumers have been able to rapidly tap into recent changes in health insurance affordability and availability enabled by new federal policies, including the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act,” said Elaine Beeman, a senior managing director of AFS’ civilian portfolio.
