Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) Astrotech Space Operations subsidiary and SpaceX have secured spots on a potential 10-year, $100 million contract to process payload and rocket payload for NASA missions.
NASA intends to use payloads under the program at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The agency also included an on-ramp provision in the fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to seek proposals from current or additional vendors for novel processing services that are not offered at the time of the award.
NASA’s Launch Services Program at Kennedy Space Center is responsible for managing the contract.
