The recent award extends the performance period by 12 more months ending December 2024 and increases the value of the project to $5.17 billion, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The modification enables Boeing to install launch system components and supporting equipment, complete ground tests and deploy the Missile Defense System’s launch management software version 8D and Increment 6B.2. The company will carry out the tasks in Huntsville, Alabama; and Fort Greely, Alaska; and at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
Funding will come from MDA’s research, development, test and evaluations budget for fiscal 2023, 2024 and 2025.
