Karen Dahut, president of Booz Allen Hamilton‘s (NYSE: BAH) global defense business, has been hired by Google to lead a subsidiary that aims to help U.S. government customers build applications and update systems with cloud technology.
The more-than-three-decade industry veteran will assume her new position Oct. 31, when she officially retires from Booz Allen, and succeed founding Google Public Sector CEO Will Grannis.
“Karen is a highly accomplished executive who has built businesses, developed and executed large-scale growth strategies, and created differentiated solutions across both commercial and federal industries,” Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian wrote in a blog post published Friday.
Dahut has worked at Booz Allen for the past two decades with the last four years as head of the management and information technology consulting firm’s global defense sector.
The former U.S. Navy officer and comptroller for the Navy’s biomedical research institute was featured in Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list of GovCon’s most influential figures in 2014 and 2018.
