Sargent previously served as president of OptumServe’s emergency preparedness and response and as chief of staff for the federal health services provider.
He oversaw multiple medical commands during his 35 years of Army service, which included assignments as commanding general at the Army Medical Center of Excellence and commander of the 421st Medical Evacuation Battalion.
