The National 911 Program at NHTSA will oversee the effort and collaborate with MCP to come up with a report that will include an assessment of administrative, governance, operational and financial issues and identification of metrics to help determine GIS data’s accuracy, MCP said Monday
Darrin Reilly, president and CEO of MCP, said the company is honored to support the National 911 Program in guiding 911 centers in the U.S. through the Next Generation 911 system implementation.
“Enhanced GIS data sharing will help the 911 community better serve citizens and improve emergency response outcomes. With many agencies still at an early stage of their NG911 journey, this report will help them move forward in a more systematic and accelerated manner,” added Reilly.
NHTSA selected MCP for the effort after soliciting and evaluating proposals submitted through a full-and-open competition.
