Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has received a potential 15-year, $3.12 billion contract to manufacture APG-82 radar systems for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15 fighter jet fleet.
The company will also modernize and provide support services for the radar system through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The F-15 division contracts branch obligated $471,662 in aircraft procurement funds for fiscal year 2021 at the time of award. Future foreign military sales orders can be placed under the sole-source contract.
Work will occur in El Segundo, California, through June 8, 2036.
The F-15 APG-82 radar can detect and track multiple aerial and surface targets at long ranges to deliver situational awareness and optimize the fighter jet’s multirole mission capability.
