Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has won a potential $630M contract to help the U.S. Air Force develop and maintain an integrated weather information system in an effort to ensure the accuracy, relevance, consistency and timeliness of the service branch’s environmental intelligence for warfigthers.
The Technology Application Development and Sustainment contract seeks to deliver a single platform comprised of hardware and software for the Air Force weather enterprise, the Department of Defense said Monday.
USAF officially awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity TADS contract to the Reston-based Unisys Federal business, which SAIC acquired for $1.2B in March.
The 55th Contracting Squadron at Offutt AF Base received six proposals for the project through a competitive acquisition process and the service is obligating $2.2M in fiscal 2020 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
Contract work will take place in Nebraska through Oct. 15, 2025.
