Urs Kiener, chief financial officer of RUAG International, will serve as acting CEO of the newly formed technology group, succeeding Urs Breitmeier after Swiss defense and aerospace contractor RUAG separated into two new subholding entities.
The company said Tuesday it unbundled military business activities into RUAG International and MRO Switzerland on Jan. 1, a move that was approved by the Swiss Federal Council. Both new organizations will operate under the umbrella of under the umbrella of BGRB Holding.
Kiener has been a member of the RUAG group executive board since 2002 and previously managed the firm's aerostructures division.
Breitmeier, who served as group CEO for spent seven years, stepped down through a mutual agreement with the board of directors of RUAG International.
