Forescout's Katherine Gronberg: Agencies Should Close Visibility Gap Linked to Nontraditional Endpoints

Katherine Gronberg, vice president of government affairs at Forescout Technologies (Nasdaq: FSCT), has said federal agencies should have better visibility of nontraditional endpoints within their information technology systems to help ensure network security.

Gronenberg wrote that agencies seeking to protect nontraditional network devices from cyber threats should implement an approach œthat is not dependent on software being deployed on an endpoint.

She noted that such an approach was adopted by the departments of Homeland Security and Defense through their respective Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation and Comply to Connect programs, which she said œdepend on agentless asset detection technology to achieve full visibility of the enterprise.

œWith programs like CDM and C2C, the U.S. government has made a strong statement that the future of federal network security hinges on continuous and automated detection and assessment of all endpoints, Gronenberg added.

She called on agencies to employ the right tools to address the visibility gap associated with nontraditional endpoints and help avoid mission disruptions.
