Stephen Kovac, vice president of global government and compliance at Zscaler (Nasdaq: ZS), has said there are several techniques and tools agencies could use to provide users secure connections to applications wherever they are.
Kovac wrote about how zero-trust networking uses encrypted microtunnels and microsegmentation to establish a seamless and trusted connection between users and apps.
œIt eliminates the need for virtual private networks because the user is no longer being routed back onto the agency™s network, he said of zero-trust networking. œSecure cloud gateways and proxies can also give users the experience of being directly connected to their applications without agencies having to invest in expensive networks or security devices.
Kovac discussed how cloud computing could help agencies leverage threat intelligence and field patches to security threats.
He mentioned Trusted Internet Connections 3.0, Cloud Smart and Federal Data Strategy as some of the directives that could remove barriers to agencies™ tech adoption.
