QinetiQ announced on Wednesday that the company has entered into an agreement to acquire Manufacturing Techniques (MTEQ) on a cash-free, debt-free basis for $105 million to be paid in cash on completion. The transaction will more than double the size of QinetiQ’s U.S. operations. 

“The acquisition of MTEQ is a significant step towards achieving our ambition to build an integrated global defence and security company, more than doubling the size of our operations in the largest defense and security market in the world,” said Steve Wadey, CEO at QinetiQ.

U.S. Navy Exercises $1B Option for Fluor Marine Propulsion

The U.S. Navy has exercised a $1 billion option for Fluor Marine Propulsion, a subsidiary of Fluor, to continue to provide propulsion support services at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. 

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated by Fluor across four facilities in three states The lab has more than 7,500 engineers, scientists, technicians and support personnel

Under the contract, forty-six percent of work will take place in Pennsylvania and the remaining 54 percent will occur in New York and Idaho. 

Lockheed Martin Secures $281M Army ‘Sentinel’ Radar Supply Contract

Lockheed Martin has won a potential $281 million contract from the U.S. Army to produce 18 Sentinel A4 radar systems intended for use in air and missile defense operations beyond visual range. Work will take place in Liverpool, N.Y., through March 31, 2026.

Sentinel A4 will be the successor to the Sentinel A3 phased array radar and be equipped with a three-dimensional X-band functionality to detect rocket, artillery and mortar threats. 

CACI Awarded $250M IDIQ to Support U.S. Marine Corps

CACI International has received a potential $250 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to continue providing post-deployment support for an automated logistics platform being used by the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC).

The company’s federal business will help USMC manage and operate services, sustain systems and maintain a solution development environment for the Global Combat Support System. 

Other tasks will include enterprise training, engineering change, change request and life cycle support. The Pentagon expects CACI to finish all contract services by March 2025. 

The USMC will finance the contract’s initial task order with $344,913 in fiscal 2019 operation and maintenance funds.
