United Launch Alliance has received a $149.4M contract modification to manufacture a Delta IV heavy-lift rocket variant for the U.S. Air Force™s National Security Space Launch program.
The modification increases the total value of a previously awarded contract to $449.8M and tasks the Boeing (NYSE: BA)-Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) joint venture to support the National Reconnaissance Office™s Launch Mission Two, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
The AF Space and Missile Systems Center will obligate $139M at the time of award.
The original contract, awarded in October 2018, has a maximum value of $152.4 and covers Delta IV production for the first of NRO™s three launch mission plans.
Work under the modification will take place at Cape Canaveral AF Station in Florida and company sites in Colorado and Alabama.
The Pentagon expects ULA to complete Mission Two launch services by December 2022.
