Computacenter, a U.K.-based public technology company, has acquired Government Acquisitions Inc. as part of a push to expand its U.S. presence and support U.S. federal agencies.

The companies said the deal has received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. and is expected to conclude on June 1.

What Are the Details of the GAI Acquisition?

Upon completion of the transaction, GAI will operate as a specialized federal government-focused business unit within Computacenter’s North American operations.

Computacenter said GAI’s existing leadership team will remain in place and continue managing the business. It will fund the transaction with existing cash and expects the acquisition to be immediately earnings accretive.

What Did Computacenter & GAI Officials Say About the Transaction?

“We are proud of the relationships we have built with public sector customers across Europe and Canada and are delighted to have the opportunity to bring one of the leading US federal government VARs into Computacenter,” Computacenter CEO Mike Norris said.

He added that GAI will provide access to a new growth market in the U.S. while supporting Computacenter’s expanding capabilities and infrastructure.

GAI President Jay Lambke said Computacenter offers opportunities for the company’s customers and employees.
