Curtiss-Wright Completes Tactical Communications Group Acquisition; David Adams Quoted

Curtiss-Wright (NYSE: CW) has closed its $50M cash acquisition of Tactical Communications Group, a Tewksbury, Mass.-based maker of tactical data link software for military communications platforms.

“This acquisition yields significant opportunities for growth by enhancing our existing flight test instrumentation offering with complementary tactical data link processing software, analytics and visualization capabilities, and also providing penetration into the tactical data link test, simulation and training markets, David Adams, chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright, said in a statement published Monday.

Adams added the transaction aligns with the company™s acquisition strategy and provides access to TCG™s commercial off-the-shelf TDL software needed to develop, test and field military communications systems.

Curtiss-Wright will operate TCG as part of its defense segment and expects the deal to be accretive to earnings per share in 2019.

TCG, which posted approximately $15M in 2018 sales, has about 50 employees and provides platforms for use aboard military aircraft and at defense flight test facilities, including LinkPro tactical data link processing software, Ground TDL System hardware test station and Battlefield Operations Support System software for simulation and scripting capability.
