Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential three-year, $204M contract from Naval Air Systems Command to inspect modify and repair systems of two U.S. Navy aircraft platforms.
The sole-source contract has a base value of $62M and covers support work on military service’s EA-18G Growler and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet jets, Boeing said Friday.
The company expects to maintain and update 28 aircraft units during the first year of the agreement.
Modifications will take place at the Cecil Field facility in Jacksonville, Fla.
Adm. Pat Walsh, vice president of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps services within Boeing’s global services segment, said the company aims to help extend the service life of the F/A-18 fleet for mission and readiness efforts.
Walsh added that Boeing and the Navy have worked together since 1999.
