Fluor (NYSE: FLR) has won a potential eight-year, $495 million contract from the U.S. Navy to provide base area support services at Joint Region Marianas in Guam.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Hawaii awarded the cost-plus-award-fee contract that covers general base support, port operations, ordnance, facility investment, administration and material and facility management, Fluor said Wednesday.
Tom DAgostino, president of Fluors government group, said the contract award seeks to reflect the companys strategy to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and commitment to support the U.S. government.
The service branch received eight proposals for the contract that is a re-award as a result of a corrective action in relation to a protest filed with the Government Accountability Office, the Defense Department said in a Sept. 21 news release.
The contract has a one-year base period worth approximately $38.3 million, four option years, three award option years and a six-month services extension and also covers environmental support, electrical services and base support vehicles and equipment.
Work will occur in various sites in Guam through September 2025.
