The Defense Health Agency has awarded CareFusion (NYSE: CFN) a five-year, $100 million blanket purchase agreement contract to build a technology platform for military health facilities to automate distribution of distribution of medicines to beneficiaries.
CareFusion will develop the Pharmacy Impatient Automation Solution-Automated Dispensing Cabinet for MTF inpatient pharmacies as well as hospital/clinic service areas under the contract, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
DHA also seeks to standardize and rationalize medicine distribution efforts across the Military Health System with the PIAS-ADC system, according to DoD.
The company can receive orders from requesting activities under the BPA will perform work MTFs located within and outside the continental U.S. through Sept. 29, 2021.
DHA awarded the contract through the General Services Administration‘s information technology schedule.
