The defense and aerospace company was initially awarded a $435 million contract to construct and commission the Kentucky-based TNT facility in November 2024. The five-year contract, part of the Joint Program Executive Office Armaments and Ammunition initiative, aims to resolve supply chain vulnerabilities and revive the domestic production of the chemical compound used in ammunition production, which includes bombs, grenades and artillery shells.
