According to the request for proposal issued on SAM.gov Thursday, the contract covers discrete, non-discrete and other production work supporting the Navy’s four public shipyards — Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
The selected contractors will provide preservation, structural and non-destructive testing, shipboard work, electrical services, component repair and engineering support that will enable the shipyards to perform repair, maintenance and modernization efforts on nuclear-powered attack submarines. Specifically, the work will include drydock submarine repair, maintenance and alterations at the shipyards, as well as repair and restoration of select critical components.
The contract will have a five-year base period with three option years. Interested vendors may submit their proposals by March 10.
