Seven companies have secured U.S. Navy contracts worth $495 million combined to construct and repair naval bases within Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command’s Southwest area of responsibility.
The awardees will support projects to build, renovate and repair dry utilities under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contacts, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.
Eighty-seven percent of work will take place in California and the rest will occur in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico.

NAVFAC Southwest received 20 offers for the procurement effort via a competitive acquisition and will obligate $5,000 to each awardee using fiscal 2024 operation and maintenance funds.
