AECOM Subsidiary Wins $91M Navy Berth Repair Project

AECOM’s (NYSE: ACM) technical services subsidiary has won a $91.5 million task order from Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command to repair two berthing structures at a Portsmouth, Virginia, military shipyard.

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic received three bids for the project covering Norfolk Naval Shipyard Berths 40 and 41 repairs and Dry Dock 8 modernization, the service said Thursday.

The command issued the task order under a multiple-award construction contract vehicle that supports the U.S. Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program.

In 2018, the branch unveiled a two-decade, $21 billion investment plan to modernize its four public shipyards used to maintain nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines.

Under the task order, AECOM will help replace pile systems and caps, concrete beams, and cast-in-place concrete platforms.

The service expects work to conclude by April 2024.
