Carey Smith, chairwoman, president and CEO of Parsons (NYSE: PSN), said the company has acquired eight companies in the past five years and adopted a deliberate strategy with a focus on “buying for technology differentiation,” Defense News reported Thursday.
“But I would add to that, potentially, an acquisition on the critical infrastructure side that would have a technology component,” she added.
Smith said she had three priorities when she assumed the role of CEO in July 2021 and one of those is gaining presence in high-growth markets.
“It would be, in federal, focused on cyberspace, missile defense, C5ISR; and now, with the addition of Xator, critical infrastructure protection,” she noted.
She also shared her views on the federal budget for fiscal year 2023 and the war in Ukraine.
