Ian Reason, a two-decade aerospace and defense sector veteran, has been named a senior vice president at Barnes Group (NYSE: B) and president of the company’s aerospace business.
His appointment takes effect May 2 and he will succeed Michael Beck, who intends to retire on April 30, Barnes said Monday.
Reason most recently served as president of mechanical solutions, interiors and structures at aerospace company Triumph Group (NYSE: TGI) and previously spent 12 years at defense contractor BAE Systems.
His BAE career included VP roles with responsibility for F-35 customer engagement and business development and strategy for training solutions business.
The former U.K. Navy officer also served as BAE’s director of customer alignment for the F-35 Global Sustainment program, where he worked with prime contractor Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) to form a team composed of government and industry representatives to help maintain the fighter aircraft fleet.
