MDA Issues RFI for Agency Information Management and Software Services Program

The Missile Defense Agency has begun seeking information on small businesses that could provide software development, data management and other related services to support the modernization and operation of an agencywide data repository.

MDA issued the request for information for the Agency Information Management and Software Services program to help evaluate the current marketplace for small business capabilities to meet its requirements, secure industry recommendations on acquisition strategies and contractual approaches and identify any potential barriers to a competitive award, according to notice posted Friday.

The AIMSS program at Von Braun Complex on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, manages devices in support of data collection and analysis efforts. AIMSS infrastructure includes a test and development zone A intended for data distribution and archival and test and development zone B for data analysis and software development efforts.

MDA is seeking information on potential offerors that can oversee, sustain, modernize and operate its data repository to streamline data analysis, archive and dissemination efforts; develop and support enterprise-focused data initiatives; design and secure accreditation of customized software meant for data analysis, archival and test resource planning; and implement technology platforms in approved cloud service provider to improve user experience for data archival and distribution.

Responses to the RFI are due Jan. 18.
