Former Dell SVP Steve Harris Named as Chief Revenue Officer at Ellucian; Laura Ipsen Quoted

Steve Harris, a more than two-decade Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) veteran, has been tapped by Ellucian to serve as chief revenue officer, responsible for driving the Reston, Virginia-based higher education technology company’s revenue generation initiatives and leading development of go-to-market plans.

Ellucian said Thursday Harris will also work to expand global partnerships, oversee business capture efforts and support customers’ transition to cloud and the company’s open software as a service platform.

During his 23 years of service at Dell, he led the delivery of digital transformation capabilities to federal, state and local governments and public health care, higher education and K-12 institutions. Harris most recently worked as senior vice president and general manager of public sector strategy and president of its federal systems business.

Harris’ appointment will take effect May 21. The new CRO will report to Ellucian President and CEO Laura Ipsen.

“With more than two decades of leadership at Dell in public sector and education in the U.S. and global markets, Steve brings a strong background in digital transformation from edge to the core and cloud ideally suited for Ellucian’s rapid growth and the goals of our customers,” said Ipsen.
