Honeywell Receives $476M Army Contract for Chinook Helicopter Engines

Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) has secured a $476 million contract to supply T55 turboshaft engines for the U.S. Army’s CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleet.

The service branch is also procuring electronic control units and installation kits from Honeywell through the firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Army Contracting Command solicited bids for the procurement effort via the internet and subsequently received one offer.

DOD expects contract work to conclude by Dec. 31, 2023.

The T55 engine is designed to generate 4,800 shaft horsepower and power Chinook military cargo helicopters to operate at a speed of up to 196 miles per hour.
