BAE Secures $460M Army Multi-Mode Radio System Support Contract

A BAE Systems business arm has secured a $459.8 million contract from the U.S. Army to provide hardware components for a multi-mode radio designed to provide line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communications on aviation platforms.

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration will also perform repair services and technical, engineering and logistics support services for the AN/ARC-231/A Multi-mode Aviation Radio Suite, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

According to solicitation documents, the multi-mode radio system will enable air traffic control communications; maritime communications; single channel very high frequency, ultra high frequency line-of-sight communications; and UHF satellite communications.

Army Contracting Command received one bid for the order-dependent contract via the internet and will determine work locations and budget upon issuance of each order.

DOD expects work to conclude by April 9, 2034.
