General Dynamics Awarded $1.2B to Build Army’s Short-Range Air Defense System

A business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has secured a potential five-year, $1.22B contract from the U.S. Army to manufacture and test systems that are designed to destroy, neutralize or deter low-altitude aerial threats. The U.S. Army has awarded pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline a $342M contract to buy COVID-19 vaccines in mass quantities from multiple vendors. The service branch obligated the full contract amount at the time of award to support coronavirus response efforts at military sites within and outside the continental U.S., the Department of Defense said Thursday.
