David Melcher
David Melcher, an aerospace and defense industry veteran, has been appointed by the board to serve as independent lead director at Cubic (NYSE: CUB).
After careful consideration, Cubics board feels Dave will be a strong successor as lead independent director with his passion for innovation and industry expertise, said Bradley Feldmann, chairman, president and CEO of Cubic, said in a statement published Monday.
Melcher succeeds Edwin Guiles, a board member of Cubic since 2008 who passed on June 7.
Melcher, a two-time Wash100 winner, is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who previously served as president and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association. Prior to AIA, he held senior leadership roles at Exelis and ITT (NYSE: ITT). He is a former White House fellow and sits on the board of CR BARD.
