Dan Smoot, former executive vice president of global partner sales at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), has joined Riverbed Technology as chief customer officer at the San Francisco-based information technology provider.
Riverbed said Wednesday Smoot will oversee the company’s global support and renewal programs, professional services, education, customer success management and vertical offerings in his new position.
In that capacity, he will aim to establish long-term partnerships with customers and networks through a customer life cycle strategy.
“We expect Dan’s leadership and contributions to make an immediate impact as we help our customers digitally transform their business,” said Paul Mountford, CEO at Riverbed Technology.
At Salesforce, Smoot led activities of a global partner sales organization that targeted $2.1 billion in annual contract awards.
