Tony Frazier, former executive vice president and general manager of public sector earth intelligence at Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR), has been named CEO of LeoLabs, a space visualization company that tracks objects in low Earth orbit.
He will succeed LeoLabs co-founder Dan Ceperley, who will assume the chief operations officer post responsible and lead the company’s engineering and mission operations, LeoLabs said Monday.
In his new role, Frazier will oversee the Menlo Park, California-based company as it seeks to partner with military and commercial customers worldwide to enable safe and secure space operations.
“LeoLabs has built the right capabilities at the right time to become a critical mission partner for U.S., allied, and commercial space operators. I’m excited to join LeoLabs as CEO to build on its market momentum and scale its growth,” the sixth-time Wash100 awardee said.
Frazier most recently led Maxar’s $1 billion public sector intelligence business segment that delivers mission support services to the U.S. government and international customers.
Before joining Maxar, he was senior VP and general manager of services at DigitalGlobe and SVP of marketing at GeoEye.
His industry career also includes time in senior leadership roles at Cisco, Infor and IBM (NYSE: IBM).
“Tony is going to take the great capabilities and customer relationships we pioneered and scale them to become an indispensable source of information for the global space industry,” Ceperley said.
