HII Newport News Shipbuilding Completes SSN 789 Initial Sea Testing


TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 30, 2018 — Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division has concluded the initial sea trials of the Virginia-class USS Indiana submarine, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.

HII said Friday SSN 789 performed its first submergence and demonstrated high-speed maneuvers above surface and underwater during the alpha testing.
