Eight companies have won small business set-aside positions on a potential nine-year, $450 million contract to provide training support services for the U.S. Air Force in an effort to help the U.S. and partner agencies counter national security threats.
The service branch awarded the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through a competitive procurement with 25 bids received, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
The contract covers the provision of training equipment, instruction and related materials and calls for contractors to help U.S. and partner institutions detect and prevent threats linked to piracy, narcotics, transnational organized crime, threat finance networks and trafficking.
Contract work is expected to run through Feb. 8, 2025, according to DoD.
