Tim Mahoney, president and CEO of Honeywell’s aerospace business, said Monday the company made the acquisition to also grow its satcom hardware and software products and airtime services.
Denmark-based Satcom1 produces onboard communications routing technology for business, military and head of state planes, as well as serves as a distributor of Honeywell’s JetWave satellite terminals and Inmarsat’s Global Xpress Aviation platform.
Satcom1 owns a research, design and support facility at a Paris airport and has consulting and sales offices in Texas and the United Arab Emirates.
Honeywell said the transaction is scheduled to close by the end of this year.
