Inmarsat’s Global Xpress Part of Networked Joint Force Operations Trial in Australia

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 18, 2017 — Inmarsat has provided its Global Xpress satellite communications service to support encrypted file transfer and live video streaming capabilities as part of tests on the Australian air force’s C-130J Hercules transport aircraft, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Friday the six-month trial through December will utilize GX and Honeywell‘s (NYSE: HON) JetWave Ka-band satcom system as Australia’s military seeks to demonstrate air mobility aircraft connectivity to collaborate with embarked forces during networked joint force operations.
