The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has awarded NCI (Nasdaq: NCIT) a potential five-year, $51.9 million contract to support fraud detection efforts at the National Supplier Clearinghouse.
The company said Wednesday it plans to use technology-based methods to help NSC recognize improper activities during enrollment of Medicare equipment suppliers.
Brian Clark, NCI president, said the company has helped CMS investigate fraudulent activities through the firm’s AdvanceMed subsidiary.
The contract contains one base year and four option years.
NCI was awarded a contract in April to identify Medicare program-related fraud for CMS Zone 3 region.
