General Dynamics‘ information technology business unit has won aÂ $6.9 million bridge contract with the U.S. Army‘s Africa CommandÂ to maintain two African news websites, FCW reported Tuesday.
Adam Mazmanian writesÂ General Dynamics IT will continue its work on translation, posting of comments, survey writing, Â Google Adwords maintenance and page modifications forÂ Magharebia.com andÂ Sabahionline.com.
TheÂ U.S. Special Operations Command previously ran the two websites asÂ part of itsÂ Trans Regional Web Initiative, according to the report.
Magharebia.com is in Arabic with English and French translations and covers Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, FCW reports.
Mazmanian writes Sabahionline.com features the Arabic, Somali, Swahili and English languages and covers Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Kenya.
The Army is scheduled to release a new solicitation inÂ November, FCW reports.
